I’ve been running Chrome in Linux for a while now, but I can’t move to it completely yet. I’ve got a list of problems (I may post here later), but one in particular seems easily solvable with a relatively small and simple extension. I’d like to try my hand at writing a browser extension anyway – just as soon as a bunch of free time falls into my lap.

When you hover over a link you see the link destination at the bottom, but Chrome cuts it off after about 80 characters. Why not use the whole width? The URI is usually what I’m looking for anyway!

The extension would show the whole URL. If it wraps to a second line, so be it.

That’s it, short and sweet, the way an introduction to a new API should be.
